First Sam Baker fired Coach Sewak, who had the highest winning percentage among SoCon coaches at the time. His only sin? Losing in the first round of the PLAYOFFS. Noone else has gotten us there. Second - we give up our expertise in the option - hard to defend it and it scores lots of points. Third: to run Hatcher' spread you need bigger linemen and there are only so many good ones available given all the recruiting focus by better programs in our region. We just are not going to get a Troy State, Georgia, Carolina, Clemson, Tech, Florida type line. You also need taller receivers also hard to get if they have hands and speed. All in all I miis the option - but I would not miss Sam baker. Bring back Bucky Wagner!
